 Summary:
This very real and well stocked fish market was quite a surprise. Along the Potomac River, this market is well known to locals but not as popular with tourists.
You can come here and get just about any type of fish, shellfish, or ocean creepy-crawly thing that's edible.
But there are also stacks of steamed crab, deep fried shrimp and other edibles that you can pick up a cheap alternative to the formal restaurants that line Water St. In fact, the only time I'd recommend is parking at the metered parking there that can be easier to get into that along the Mall.

 Features:
Fresh fish, shellfish, squid and octopus. Fresh, and many available cooked. I probably saw four or five businesses.in a U-shaped pattern.

This is located next to the Tidal Basin, the National Mall, the Washington Monument, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and the marina for the Spirit Boat Tours.
