Statue of Franklin D RooseveltSummary:
I'm not sure if this memorial is to a great president or a great generation. Elected for four terms and serving 12 years, President Roosevelt oversaw both the years of the Depression and the United States entry into World War II. Though suffering from heart disease and knowing it might kill him, he agreed to run for a fourth term rather than taking retirement.

He oversaw many changes in the United States, including the start of Social Security and public debt.
